Key West's Stock Island Marina Village accommodates all kinds of cruisers, whether transient, liveaboard, or megayacht. As the largest deepwater marina in the Keys, it plays host to megayachts as large as 320 feet with 16-foot draft. Director of Business Development Rob Smith-Martin says they've opened a new market to provide world-class dockage and amenities for megayachts. Smith-Martin, a life-long Key Wester who calls himself the "Director of Keeping It Real," boasts about Stock Island's many attractive features: great restaurants, entertainment, art, and architecture, as well as beautiful golf courses and "the best year-round fishing in the U.S.," not to mention location, location, location. "There are many marinas surrounding Key West, but Stock Island Marina Village leads the way in technology, infrastructure, and crew facilities. We have more deepwater capacity than any other marina in the Keys, and more importantly, we are the most laid back," says Smith-Martin. Marina guests often praise the facility for its organic gardens, dog park all sized canines, fast Internet service, and laid back Key West atmosphere.

The marina at Safe Harbor--part of Stock Island's Historic Seaport--opened its doors in the 1940s but has undergone complete redevelopment over the past two years, including the newly installed Bellingham concrete floating docks, which were completed ahead of schedule. And they're not done yet. Future plans include a new fuel system (opens October 1^st), as well as 124 new slips at their concrete floating dock, an 80-room boutique fish camp hotel (coming in 2015), two new waterfront restaurants (also coming in 2015), ship's store, and recreation area.
